Only 200 will be given away Feb. 14 --
LEBANON -- Cumberland University baseball will give away 2014 national championship posters to the first 200 fans on Saturday, February 14 during the opening weekend of home action for the Bulldogs.
The commemorative posters were designed by Cumberland University's John Essary and feature player and celebration photos from last season's national championship, the third in program history under long-time head coach Woody Hunt.
The Bulldogs won the Mid-South Conference Championships in Columbia, Ky., in extra innings against Georgetown College and the NAIA Championship Opening Round in Kingsport, coming through the loser's bracket to beat Missouri Baptist twice.
At the Avista-NAIA World Series the club posted four straight victories before a 6-5 loss to host Lewis-Clark State, but Cumberland rebounded with a 3-0 victory in the national title game in the third meeting of the series against Lewis-Clark.
The Bulldogs have won three NAIA World Series championships in 10 years (2004, 2010, 2014) and finished as national runners-up in 2006 as well.
All gates at Ernest L. Stockton Field-Woody Hunt Stadium will close and the stadium will be emptied at approximately 10:45 a.m. on Feb. 14. Fans will be limited to one poster per person and posters will ONLY be distributed at the main gate to the stadium.
