Saturday at Nokes-Lasater Field
Longtime rival University of the Cumberlands comes to town Saturday as Cumberland returns to action after a much-needed week off.

Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at Nokes-Lasater Field for the Mid-South Conference crossover game. Live radio coverage begins at 1 p.m. on WANT FM-98.9.

The Patriots come in 2-1 overall following last week's 42-7 victory over Cincinnati Christian University.

The Phoenix and Patriots have played each other 20 of the last 22 seasons, with UC holding a 12-8 advantage in the series.

Cumberland ended a nine-game losing streak to the Patriots two years ago in Lebanon, winning 34-27.

The Phoenix dropped to 0-2 on the season following a 28-7 loss at Georgetown College back on Sept. 1.

Coach Donnie Suber's team needs to get out of the blocks early after producing just 31 yards on 20 first half snaps against Georgetown.

Redshirt defensive end Justus Dauscha (Murfreesboro Blackman) will miss the first game of his career with a knee injury incurred on the last play of the Georgetown loss. Dauscha had a surgical procedure a week ago.

Four other Mid-South Conference games are on tap this weekend.

After an off week, Bethel returns to action Saturday when the Wildcats travel to Pikeville (Ky.) to take on the Bears.

The lone divisional match up of the week features No. 18 Georgetown (Ky.) playing on the road at Cincinnati Christian (Ohio).

Seventh-ranked Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) hits the road as the Blue Raiders travel to Bluefield (Va.).

No. 24 Faulkner (Ala.) entertains Kentucky Christian Saturday for a third straight home game.
