The 2017 NAIA Division I Women's Basketball All-America Team was released Thursday afternoon and Cumberland's Nicole Bowers landed a spot on the third team. A graduate of Nashville's Hillsboro High, she was also named First Team All Mid-South Conference.

Bowers averaged 14.8 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, ranking fourth in the Mid-South in points and leading the league in rebounding.

She also ranked fifth nationally in total rebounds per game. Bowers recorded 18 double-figure scoring games in 23 contests, including five games with 20-plus points and one 30-point outing.

She posted 17.5 points and 13.4 rebounds through the first 12 games of the year before a foot injury slowed her senior campaign.

CU finished the season 15-12 with a 72-53 loss to No. 5-ranked Lindsey Wilson in the first round of the MSC tournament.
