CU SOFTBALL -- Broderick honored by NAIA

2015 Scholar-Athlete recognition --
Cumberland University senior softball player Sydney Broderick was named a 2015 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, as announced Wednesday.

Student-athletes must be a junior or senior with a 3.50 grade-point-average to be eligible for the award.

Broderick graduated earlier in May with a 3.68 GPA in Criminal Justice/Public Administration from Cumberland.

The Knoxville Karns graduate played in 188 career games at CU, batting .305 with 14 doubles, 11 home runs, 91 RBIs and 51 runs scored.

CU softball camp / clinic
Cumberland softball coach Heather Stanfill will offer two camps for ages 5-12 as well as a one-day clinic for ages 13-17 this summer at the CU Softball Field.

Camps for ages 5-12 run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 22-24 and July 13-15.
