CU TENNIS -- Kalkhoff resigns

Waters takes interim post
Cumberland Director of Athletics Ron Pavan announced the resignation of tennis coach Norman Kalkhoff for personal reasons, effective immediately.

Assistant Athletic Director Mitch Walters will take over as interim coach with help from graduate assistant and former All-American Angelica Sepulveda.

Kalkhoff, a former head coach at the University of the South and Battle Ground Academy, joined the Cumberland program in November 2016.

"We are sorry to see Norman leave the program at this time, but we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

"Coach Walters will take over the day-to-day duties of the program with help from Angelica."

Walters has coached women's basketball and soccer during his nearly three decades at Cumberland.

Cumberland is scheduled to play its first home match of the year Tuesday, March 14 against Illinois-Springfield at 1 p.m. at the Tommy Gray Memorial Courts on campus.
