Shoaf said the briefing will give details on the 101st Airbornes upcoming deployment and mission in Afghanistan. Those in attendance will hear from McGee and four other soldiers conducting a briefing on the deployment.
We hope to assemble a crowd of about 235, and, to that end, will shortly issue formal invitations to business and elected officials of Wilson County and (U.S. 6th District Rep.) Diane Black and (U.S. 5th District Rep.) Jim Cooper, Shoaf said.
Shoaf also indicated local civic organizations such as Chambers of Commerce and Rotary Clubs will be invited as well.
A previous version of this article incorrectly stated this event was related to the 101st Airborne's "3rd Brigade" deployment, however, the brigade speaking at CU will be the 1st Brigade.
