Secretary of State Tre Hargett recently announced grants intended to fund local archive development have been awarded to Cumberland University's Vise Library and the Wilson County Archives.

"These are more than investments in archival supplies," Hargett said of the grants, distributed through the Tennessee State Library and Archives. "These grants protect our state's precious history while ensuring access to historical information for more Tennesseans than ever before. I'm proud the Library and Archives plays such a vital role in ensuring limited state and federal dollars are used wisely in every corner of our state."

Vise Library at CU received a $1,500 archive development grant for archival processing materials, while the Wilson County Archives received a $1,250 archive development grant to purchase acid-free folders.
