Cumberland had several chances in the early going to take the lead, but Tigers keeper Brandie Hagerman made three 1-v-1 saves in the first 15 minutes to keep the match scoreless. Campbellsville began counter-attacking in the middle of the period but never really threatened the goal.
Cumberland kept the pressure on but was unable to find the back of the net and the match was scoreless at intermission. After the break Campbellsville was the more aggressive team but CU goalie Lindsay Kitson continually cleared or covered up balls near the top of the box.Cumberland was never able to find its rhythm in the second half, as the Tigers packed the box and played a very physical style.
CU also kept playing the ball down the middle of the field and was unable to connect continually to mount good scoring chances.
The Bulldogs finally broke through in the 80th minute when Langile controlled the ball near the right end line, came back toward the box of the box and found Nay near the corner of the goalie box. Nay controlled the pass to her right and her low blast finally got past Hagerman.
Campbellsville pressed forward in the following minutes and nearly tied the match in the 82nd minute, as a hard cross from the left corner of the box caromed off the leg of Simone Quinn and toward the CU net, but Kitson met Jessica Ralph at the top of the goalie box to knock her shot away and post her 12th shutout of the year.
Hagerman finished with eight saves for Campbellsville, including at least two more 1-v-1 stops in the second half.
Cumberland has now won 10 consecutive matches this season and was last defeated by Lindsey Wilson on Sept. 25, by a 2-0 score.
