Jessie Ruth Williams Hall
Funeral services for Mrs. Hall, 92 of Lebanon, will be Tuesday, May 24 at 2 p.m. from the First Presbyterian Church with Phillip Warren and Dr. Sherard Edington officiating. Interment will be in Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Ben Wahl, Jim Hall, Caleb Rowland, George Wahl, Gordon Bone and Frank Zier. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and Tuesday after 1 p.m. at the church.
She died Thursday, May 19, 2016, at her home. She was born in Wilson County on July 6, 1923, to the late Amos Tinsley and Ova Tinsley Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry Hall, who was killed in action during World War II; son, George Edward Hall; brothers, David and Ellus Williams; and sisters, Emma Lou Osborne, Ann Finley and Margaret Wood.
Mrs. Hall attended Sullins College and was a real estate agent. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she had served as church secretary and a deacon.
Survivors include: daughter, Joy Wahl; three grandchildren, Jim Hall, Ben Wahl and Suzanne Hall; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Hall, Lexi Grisham, Caleb Rowland, William Wahl and Talli Grisham; and one great-great-grandchild, Wyatt Hall.
