Brown had taken over over a struggling Devilette program in 2006 and promptly won more games in one season (11) that the team had managed over the previous three years. In two seasons coaching the LHS girls, Brown saw his squads go 31-34 overall.
In January of 2010, he became the principal at Wilson Central before stepping down in December of 2011 to return to the classroom.
Brown, 41, is a native of Franklin, KY and a graduate of the College of the Ozarks. He completed his masters degree at Lebanons Cumberland University.
Eddie Sherlin coming to LHS --Eddie Sherlin, considered one of the greatest athletes in the history of Gallatin High, has joined Courtney McFarlins staff as coach of the Lebanon High freshman girls basketball team -- on a non-faculty basis.
Sherlin, 61, was a fourth round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1970 and spent four-plus years in the minor leagues in both the Pittsburgh and Cincinnati organizations.
He and former Vanderbilt basketball star Bill Ligon were the subjects of an independent film Union: The True Story about a historic basketball game that moved racial barriers in Gallatin. A former womens bas-ketball coach at Cleveland State Community College, Sherlin has been running basketball clinics in Sumner County for the past several years.
Also new to the Devilette staff is Erica Johnson, a faculty member in the science department. Johnson is a native of Lubbock, TX and spent four years as head coach of the Whos Next AAU basketball program. She will coach the LHS junior varsity program.
