I am announcing my candidacy for the office of Assessor of Property. I am immensely grateful and humbled to have the opportunity to run for this position.
By way of introduction, my name is RD Denny. I am 58 years old and a lifelong resident of Wilson County. I am married to Tonya (Anthony) Denny, and we have a teenage daughter, Hannah, who attends Lebanon High School. My family and I attend and are members of First Baptist Church in Lebanon.
I did not make the decision lightly to run for this office. When I was approached by several people to run, I knew I had to first spend time in prayer with my family and in consultation with friends, mentors and colleagues.
I have the experience and expertise to run this office. For the last 24 years as a title examiner for Lee & Lee Attorneys, I am in the Assessor's office daily gathering tax cards, tax maps, deed references and other items to do a thorough title exam. I am familiar with the employees in this office and their positions and duties.
Prior to that, I worked in management for 10 years at Perma-Pipe Midwesco as a capacity planner. I scheduled work for a multi-million-dollar facility. I interacted daily with foremen and supervisors. I know that I have the qualifications to oversee this office. But the main reason that I am running is because I have a deep passion for this office and the people in this office - having worked with these people for the past 24 years. I also have a great passion to serve the people of Wilson County.
I have heard over the years, people say, "I wish more people would run for office with experience and qualifications." I can honestly and humbly say I am that person.
If this is what you are looking for in a candidate, then I ask you to vote for me, RD Denny.
Let's not make it just a popularity contest. Let's "Make Experience Matter!"
I will make you one campaign promise. If you will honor me and elect me as your next Assessor of Property, I promise to make you proud you did. You can contact me at email@example.com. Please visit my website at www.RDDenny.com. Early Voting is July 15 through 30. Election Day is August 4.
