GORDONSVILLE – Services have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 7 at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes for Mr. Blackburn of the Brush Creek Community.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009 at his residence.

He worked as Supervisor of Maintenance at Cumberland Mental Health Care for 14 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the New Middleton Baptist Church.

The Blackburn family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel Wednesday from 11 a.m. until service time. Services will be conducted by Brother Mark Stinnett and Brother Ben Gardner. Interment follows at Brush Creek Cemetery.

Survivors include: by his wife of 62 years Mary Katherine Blackburn and children: Kathy (Terry) Vantrease and Larry (Karen) Blackburn — all of Lebanon.

Also surviving are grandsons Jeremy (Missy) Vantrease, Jeffrey (Whitney) Vantrease, Brian (Jennifer) Blackburn and Brad Blackburn; great grandchildren Parker and Jackson Vantrease, Bryson and Carleigh Blackburn; brother Billy (Paulette) Blackburn of New Middleton, sister-in-law Evie Lee Blackburn of Hickman, brother and sister-in-law Joe (Betty) Agee of Temperance Hall along with several nieces and nephews and care giver Ashley Singleton.

Memorial donations may be made to New Middleton Baptist Church Building Fund.

Bass Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
