WATERTOWN -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Wilkerson, 76, of Lebanon.
A longtime law enforcement officer with departments in Watertown, Alexandria and the Wilson County Sheriff's Department, Mr. Wilkerson died March 9, 2011 at Lebanon's University Medical Center.
Born in Brush Creek, he was a graduate of Gordonsville High School and was a member of the Round Lick Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends Friday between the hours of 4-8 p.m. and prior to the serivces on Saturday.
Services will be conducted by Rev. Steve Mayle.
Survivors include: wife Kathy Openo Wilkerson of Lebanon; children Terry (Georgia) Wilkerson of Atlanta, GA; Nancy Ricketts of Watertown and Keith Wilkerson of Portland; special family friend Nelson Bradley of Portland and step-children Erika Owens of Lebanon, Jamie Hart of South Carthage and Ryan Brown of Valdosta, GA.
Also surviving are eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; twin brother Hoyal (Bobbye) Wilkerson of Cookeville; sister Edith Estelle Wilson of Lebanon as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by parents Phocian and Stella Parker Wilkerson and six siblings.
The Wilson County Sheriff's Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.
