LEBANON -- Veteran educator Michael Pigg will be introduced later this week as the new principal at Castle Heights Elementary School in the Lebanon Special School System.

An educator since 2005, Mr. Pigg has spent the past three years as the principal at Watertown Middle School.

He will take the spot vacated by the retirement of CHES principal Terry Trice, who led the local school since the building opened in 1997.

"CHES is a fantastic school with a wonderful staff, and I am excited to make the transition," Pigg said. "I've admired Mr. Trice and his leadership for some time now, and I look forward to joining in the good work of the LSSD."

Mr. Pigg, an educator since 2005, holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Lipscomb University), a Master of Science in Mathematics from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Carson-Newman University.

He spent roughly six years teaching math at the high school and college levels prior to joining Watertown Elementary School as assistant principal in 2011.
