Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth "Allie" Barnes will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday after 11 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo.
Mrs. Barnes, age 89 of Lebanon, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, surrounded by family and friends.
Born Feb. 25, 1927 in Davidson County, she is the daughter of the late Herschel and Myrtle Morse Haynes. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Malcolm Barnes in 2007; daughter, Jennifer (Richard) Burt; son, Michael Barnes; two grandsons, Scotty Barnes and Cody Austin; and three sisters, Dean Hickerson, Jessie McIntyre, and Ethel Slade.
She is survived by five children, Johnny Barnes, Garland Barnes, Denise Reece, Grace Barnes, and Billie (Anthony) Wickham; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and special loved ones Sue Sweatt and Billie Stockton.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice for their care and support and a very special thank you to Miss Sue and Billie for loving our mother.
