Launch party set for Saturday at future site

The recent fund-raiser was the most successful single fund-raising event Empower Me Center has ever held.

Individuals and businesses were challenged on Oct. 3 to make a year-end, tax-deductible donation to help the local non-profit organization that serves individuals with disabilities.

"We raised $90,000 in 90 days. The beauty of it - it didn't cost us a thing. This was raised through $5, $10, $20 donations through our newsletter and social media," said Michelle Hill, executive director of the Empower Me Center. "It just goes to show that every dollar adds up, and we are so grateful to everyone who contributed."

The non-profit will host a Launch Party on Saturday at 2 p.m. on the future site of the Empower Me Center, located on Carver Lane in Lebanon just north of the railroad tracks.

"We are officially launching our campaign, and we invite everyone in the community out to celebrate with us," Hill said. "The hot air balloon on our thermometer sign will be lifted off the ground as we also have other exciting news to share."
