Charles Eskew Field in Lebanon’s Baird Park Complex will be the site of next month’s 15 year-old Babe Ruth Baseball State Tournament.
Sponsored by the Lebanon Lions Club Babe Ruth organization, play in the double-elimination tournament is set to begin Friday, July 18.
According to league president David McKinney, three Lions Club all-star teams will participate in district tournament competition beginning June 26 at various sites in Middle Tennessee.
“We’ve had so much rain this season, it’s been difficult to get in our minimum number of games in order to field all-star teams,” McKinney said.
“We’re playing every night this week in order to get caught up and to decide our league champions.”
McKinney said all the make-up games have forced the league to forgo the annual closing ceremonies event.
All-star rosters for the 15‘s and 14’s were announced Thursday.
Here’s the list and the respective district tournament sites and dates.
