CARTHAGE -- Mrs. Faye Brown, 73, wife of Red Boiling Springs Vice-Mayor Willie Brown, died Wednesday June 1, 2011 at the St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, June 6 at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Smith County Memorial Gardens.
Born Eppefania Fana Santana in Kailula Kona, Hawaii on March 24, 1938 she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Rivera Santana.
On January 4, 1956 she was united in marriage to Tennessee native Willie Lee Brown in Hilo, Hawaii.
The Browns were preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Brown in 2000.
She was a 1954 graduate of Kona High School.
A homemaker, she and her husband made their home on Bennett Hill Road and Mrs. Brown was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 55 years are children: Willie (Vickie) Brown Jr. of Hilham, Bruce (Teresa) Brown of Celina, Jeanie (Robbie) Tucker and Scott (Teresa) Brown -- all of Lebanon, Tammy (Danny) Phillips of Granville, Amanda Brown of Red Boiling Springs; siblings Elizabeth LeDunn, Olivia Hedler, Judy Santana, Susannah Pacheco Ruth Berinobis, John Santana Jr., Steven, Jeffery and Casey Santana -- all of Hawaii; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Sanderson Funeral Home of Carthage was in charge of arrangements.
