There will be five Early Voting sites for Wilson County voters to take advantage of before the Nov. 8 election. The newest site is at Lighthouse Church in Mt. Juliet, located at 6141 Saundersville Road.
Early Voting has been available since 2012 at the Wilson County Election Commission office in Lebanon, Mt. Juliet Community Center on Charlie Daniels Parkway, Gladeville Community Center and Watertown Community Center.
According to local election officials, the number of eligible voters in the county will soon top 79,000. As the population and number of registered voters continue to grow, providing adequate polling places is a challenge for the election commission. The addition of Lighthouse Church, election officials say, will bring a convenient Early Voting location to many Wilson County voters who may not have taken advantage of Early Voting opportunities in the past.
Registered Wilson County voters may vote at any of the five locations during the Early Voting period regardless of where they live. Election Day voters must cast their votes at their assigned polling place.
Early Voting for the Nov. 8 Federal and State General Election and Lebanon, Mt. Juliet and Watertown Municipal elections begins on Oct. 19 and ends on Nov. 3. All five Early Voting sites will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.; however, Lighthouse Church will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays. On Saturdays, all five locations will be open from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8 when polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 8 election is Tuesday, Oct. 11.
