MidTN Senior Classic at Stockton Field
LEBANON -- Wilson County prep baseball will be well represented Saturday in the third annual MidTN Senior All Star Classic set for Cumberland University's Ernest L. Stockton Field / Woody Hunt Stadium.
Presented by TopTennBaseball.com, five local players are schduled to participate as Middle Tennessee all-star teams will compete beginning with the Division II vs. Class AAA game at 10 a.m.
The Old Hickory Bats Home Run Derby is set for 12:30 p.m. followed by the Class AA vs. Class A contest at 2:30 p.m.
Representing Watertown High on the Class A team is pitcher / outfielder Justin Johnson (unsigned).
Friendship Christian School outfielder Michael Hawks (Maryville College) will be on the Division II team.
Wilson Central pitcher / first baseman Kyle Hubbuch will play for the Class AAA team. He will be joined by Mt. Juliet High graduates Marshall Gei (catcher, University of Kentucky) and Curt Hoppe (infielder, Cumberland University).
Hubbuch, a University of North Alabama signee, will participate in the home run derby.
All players are graduated seniors from the Class of 2014. Admission is $10 per person and is good for both games and the HR derby.
For the second consecutive year, the MidTN Senior All Star Classic will introduce three finalists in each class as MidTN Senior Player of the Year.
The winner will be presented a custom engraved bat from Old Hickory Bat Company. The other two finalists will be presented with plaques courtesy of The Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association.
The MVP of each game will be presented with an engraved bat from Old Hickory Bat Company.

Watertown High head coach E.J. Wood has been tabbed to serve as an assistant coach on the Class A staff.
Former Cumberland Junior College catcher / veteran Dickson County High head coach Ray Ragan will serve as an assistant on the Class AAA staff.
Siegel High graduate Chase Slone, who played as a ninth grader at Lebanon High, will play on the Class AAA team. Chase is the son of former LHS head coach Tracy Slone, who just wrapped up his first season as coach at DeKalb County High.
