Will coach O-Line for the Bucs
Cumberland head football coach Donnie Suber is again in the market for an offensive coordinator.

Dewayne Alexander, OC in 2016 and a former Cumberland head coach, signed a contract earlier this week to become the offensive line coach at East Tennessee State University.

Head coach at Cumberland from 2006-12, Alexander returned to Cumberland after having spent three season at Tennessee Tech as associate head coach and o-line coach at Tennessee Tech.

He will replace Erik Losey on the ETSU staff of head coach Carl Torbush after Losey accepted a similar position at Southern Miss.

"I really enjoyed being back at Cumberland," Alexander said via telephone Thursday afternoon. "The opportunity to get back to the NCAA and work with a head coach like Carl Torbush was just too good to pass up."

Alexander compiled a 41-33 record in his seven seasons as Cumberland's head coach, including 23-16 mark in the Mid-South Conference.

Prior to taking the head coaching position at Cumberland back in 2007, he was the head coach at Wilson Central High School.

Alexander earned a bachelor's in Political Science with a minor in English from Tennessee Tech in 1988 and also garnered a master's in Instructional Leadership at TTU in 1998.
