FOOTBALL -- CU plays at Belhaven Saturday

The open week was not kind to to the Bulldogs.

We gave the guys three days off early in the week, said Suber. We banged a good bit of Tuesday and Wednesday and wound up with a couple of guys hurt, so we came out a little worse (injury-wise) than we were going in. But thats football. Youve got to live with it.

Lebanons Kyle Musice, a junior linebacker from Friendship Christian School, has a shoulder injury that might require season-ending surgery.

Belhaven stands 1-2 following last weeks 41-17 home loss to the University of the Cumberlands.

They held up pretty strong to the Cumberlands until late in the game when they had a couple of breakdowns in special team, Suber said of the Blazers. Theyre huge up front -- theyve got a 6-10, 230-pound tackle

Theyve got some transfer running backs and they look pretty good. The receivers are tall and pretty quick, and theyve got a new quarterback who wont run it much.
