Buoyed by an impressive defensive effort a week ago, Cumberland's Phoenix make the long trip to Clinton, MS Saturday for a game against NCAA Division II foe Mississippi College. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at 8,500-seat Robinson-Hale Stadium.

In the final quarter Cumberland was whistled for a false start on 4th-and-goal at the one yard line and as Alter tried a 23-yard attempt, the Phoenix jumped again, moving the ball back five more yards. He converted the 28-yarder with no problems and is now 2-for-6 in his career on field goal attempts.
Phoenix linebackers Nathan Jernigan (13 tackles) and Cody Carr (10 stops) paced a Cumberland defensive effort that limited the Patriots to just 3.3 yards per rushing attempt and forced a pair of turnovers.
Mississippi College enters Saturday's game 1-2 following a 38-13 home loss a week ago to powerful West Alabama.
