Five local programs will be in action
Five of the six Wilson County high school football programs will wrap up the first week of practice in full pads with scrimmages this evening -- including two local squads going at it head-to-head.

Mt. Juliet Christian Academy's Suey Field will be the site of a controlled scrimmage between the MJCA Saints and Watertown High. Action is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. with each team rotating 10 offensive plays, before going to a down and distance scenario.

Wilson Central is set to entertain Rossview High from Montgomery County at 5:30 p.m. while Lebanon High will travel to Sumner County to take on Station Camp High.

Nashville Maplewood High visits Lebanon's Friendship Christian School for a 6:30 p.m. scrimmage at Pirtle Field.

Mt. Juliet High's football team will not scrimmage tonight, opting to host Station Camp in a Tuesday evening scrimmage.

The Wilson Post will publish its annual High School Football Preview Guide Wed., Aug. 17.
