Teeter leaving Lipscomb
CLARKSVILLE - Austin Peay State University's volleyball team has bolstered its offense ranks by signing 6-3 outside hitter Kaitlyn Teeter, a transfer from Lipscomb, for the upcoming season.
Teeter, a former four-time all-state player at Lebanon's Friendship Christian School, was a member of the Bisons volleyball team for three seasons, redshirting her first year.
As a redshirt freshman, she saw action in just 13 matches. Last season, Teeter played in 25 matches, primarily as a serving specialist. Academically, she was a two-time Atlantic Sun All-Academic selection.
"We are excited Kaitlyn will be joining our program," said head coach Taylor Mott.
"She will bring experience and the ability to compete at a high level from her three years competing for Lipscomb. She is a powerful and smart attacker we believe can be a terminal hitter on the outside. We are thrilled to be adding her to our roster."
Her limited action at Lipscomb belies impressive potential for the Friendship Christian School product.
Teeter left her prep alma mater as the program's career record holder in kills (2,857) and digs (1,339).
She led FCS to Division II state championship in both 2011 and 2012. Teeter was a four-time all-state selection.
Kaitlyn is the daughter of Eric and Deanna Teeter.
