Former NFL and Vanderbilt University standout Brenard Wilson has been named defensive backs coach at Mt. Juliet Christian Academy, joining the staff of newly hired head coach Dan Davis.

Wilson played for Vanderbilt in the late 1970’s before going on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles from (1979-1987) helping the Eagles to the 1981 Super Bowl. He closed out his professional career in 1987 with the Atlanta Falcons.

He worked as an assistant coach at several places, including Southeast Missouri State University and the Nashville Cats of the Arena Football League. In addition, he has coached at several high schools in Tennessee -- including Montgomery Bell Academy.

Wilson has joined the MJCA program in time for spring practice -- which starts Tuesday, May 6.
