LEBANON -- Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 29 at 10 a.m. at the Ligon and Bobo Funeral Home for Mrs. Bates, 77, of Lebanon.
Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Services are to be officiated by Brother Bill Speight and Dr. Larry Locke.
Mrs. Bates passed away on Monday, June 27, 2011 at her home. She was a member of Gladeville Church of Christ. She is the daughter of the late Lawton and Gertie Midgett Lecornu.
She was a 1951 graduate of Lebanon High School and had worked at Texas Boot and was a cook at Southside Elementary School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Dougie Bates and a brother, Glenn Lecornu.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Douglas Bates; three children, Judy (Charles) Dillon; Jerry (JoAnn) Bates and Houston (Lori) Cohea; five grandchildren, David Bilbrey, Wendy Thompson, Austin Cohea, Joey Bates and Amber Cohea; sister Carolyn (Kenneth) Moss; sister-in-law Jean Lecornu all of Lebanon.
Honorary pallbearers: Elders & Deacons of Gladeville Church of Christ.
Active pallbearers: Wyatt Foust, Austin Cohea, Joey Bates, Shane Helton, Kevin Hunt, Johnny Bates, Michael Carpenter and Darrel Johnson.
Memorials may be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief.
