LEBANON -- Funeral services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, April 16 at the Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home for Mr. Watson, 75, formerly of Lebanon.

Born August 24, 1933 in Wilson County to the late Darden Tank and Rosa Marie Hester Watson, he died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at his Westmoreland home.

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Texas Boot, he was a member of the Laguardo Baptist Church and had attended the Westmoreland United Methodist Church.

Visitation is Wednesday between the hours of 2-8 p.m. and after 11 a.m. Thursday at Ligon & Bobo.

Services will be conducted by Rev. George Reed. Interment will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his second wife, Marilyn Olson Powers Watson; stepsons Teri J. (Sara) Powers of Westmoreland and Ty R. (Kelly) Powers of Murfreesboro; step-grandsons Jay Wesson Powers and Mathew G. Powers; sisters Rosa Marie Brehm and Nell (Thomas) Crutcher -- all of Lebanon; eight nieces and two nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Gray Watson; siblings Georgia Bates, Margaret Jocelyn, Helen E. Watson, Ellis D. Watson and William Allen Watson.

Honorary pallbearers: Jay Wesson Powers and Mathew G. Powers. Active pallbearers: Teri & Ty Powers, Michael & Brian Ashey, William Crutcher, and David Thompson.
