Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 24 at Lebanon's Partlow Funeral Chapel for Mr. Wayne D. Hodges, 87, of Enterprise, AL.
Formerly of Lebanon and a veteran of the U.S. Army who earned the Bronze Star for his service during the Korean War, Mr. Hodges died Monday April 20. 2015 at his residence.
The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the service. Burial with military honors will follow at the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Born in Wilson County to the late George M. Hodges Sr. & Jennie Lasater Hodges, he rose to the rank of sergeant in the Army.
In addition to the Silver Star, Mr. Hodges was awarded the UN service medal, Korean service medal, W/3 Bronze Stars and R.O.K. Presidential Unit Citation.
He was retired from Pemco Aircraft in Dothan, AL and was an avid pilot and fisherman.
Survivors include: his wife of 48 years, Adele Eddings Hodges; brother George M. Hodges Jr.; brother and sister-in-law Alton & Ernestine Bane and many nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers include: Keith Harris, Eric Harris, Jay Fagan, Charles Lasater, Ken Hood and David Bane.
Honorary pallbearers: the staff and pilots of Lebanon Municipal Airport, Mr. Hodges' friends and neighbors in Enterprise AL and Myron Lasater.
Lebanon's Partlow Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
