The Bears put the game away by scoring the next three TDs, one on a 95-yard by Contrez McCathern with a minute left in the contest. McCathern led Mt. Juliet with204 yards rushing on 17 carries and scored five touchdowns.
The Golden Bears will be back in action Oct. 19 as they play at District 9AAA rival Hendersonville High.
Gordonsville 48, Watertown 0GORDONSVILLE -- Watertown slipped to 6-2 overall and 4-2 in Region 4A following Friday night's 48-0 loss to Gordonsville at Turney Ford Field.
Up 35-0 at intermission, the G-Men stiffled Watertown's offense, limiting the Purple Tigers to 93 yards in total yards. Quarterback Ty Jobe completed 10-of-21 passes for 86 yards. Brandon George caught five balls for 42 yards.
Gordonsville racked up more than 500 yards in offense and didn't punt until the fourth quarter. Payton Watson ran for 201 yards on eight attempts while Kaelin Cason had 144 yards on 13 tries and three TD's.
Watertown will try to break a modest two-game losing streak Oct. 19 as the Tigers play at Trousdale County High.
DCA 42, MJ Christian 0MT. JULIET -- The Saints of Mt. Juliet Christian Academy fell to 1-7 on the season and 0-2 in the East-Middle Region of the TSSAA's Division II with a 42-0 loss Friday at Suey Field.
DCA quarterback Will Reddick threw three touchdown passes as the Wildcats improved to 4-4 overall / 1-1 in the region.
Elliott Lee paced the Saints with 42 yards on 12 carries and Noah Wilson had 23 yards on nine tries.
The Saints will be on the road in Rutherford County Oct. 19 for a 7 p.m. game at Murfreesboro's Middle Tennessee Christian School.
