Friendship and Watertown -- Purple vs. Green, town vs. country, public vs. private -- choose your own description.

Regardless the Region 4A rivals will square off tonight at Pirtle Field for what should be another hard-hit-ting, well contested football game. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Friendship Christian enters tonights game 4-2 overall and 3-2 in region play following last weeks 17-0 loss at Trousdale County High.

While the Commander defensive unit more than held its own against the Jackets, the FCS offense failed to dent the scoreboard for the first time since Nov. 15 of 2001 when Boyd Buchanan defeated the Commanders 38-0 in the second round of the TSSAA playoffs.

Watertown enters the game riding high at 6-0 overall / 4-0 in Region 4A after whipping Clay County 28-14 kicking out, said Wildcat head coach Brad Dedman.

Theyve got a sophomore running back whos a special player -- hes very good. Their wingback is not too far behind him at all, so theyve got a pretty good 1-2 punch on offense.

Central stands 2-5 overall / 2-2 in the district. Beech enters tonights game 4-3 / 2-2 after a 23-6 loss to Hendersonville a week ago.

Were 2-2 in the district right now and were trying to get to 3-2, Dedman said, weve been telling our team all week long that if we keep winning well be in the playoff picture.
