WATERTOWN -- Funeral services have been scheduled 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25 at the Hunter Funeral Home for Mr. Cripps, 63, of Mt. Juliet.
A decorated US Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he died July 22, 2010 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Nashville.
A graduate of DeKalb County High School, he earned the Silver Star, the Medal of Valor and the Purple Heart.
The family will receive friends Friday and Saturday between the hours of 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Jerald Cripps and the Rev. Kenneth Clayton. Burial with military honors will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Survivors include: his wife Wanda Spence Cripps, daughter Angela Royalty of Lebanon, grandson Brody Royalty and mother Willie Jim Cripps Ayers Cripps of Dowelltown.
Also surviving are brothers Jerald (Lisa) Cripps of Liberty and Dwight Cripps of Dowelltown; sister-in-law Mat (Wayne) Marshall of Cane Ridge and several niece, nephews and other relations.
He is preceded in death by his father Carl Cripps.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
Hunter Funeral Home, Watertown, is in charge of arrangements.
