The Southwest Community Club got into the holiday spirit early this year.

The group, whose mission is to enhance and improve the community, packed 15 Thanksgiving box dinners on Tuesday.

President Glenda Seay said the boxes included everything from Turkey and dressing to side dishes and even icing and cake mix.

"We give them the complete meal," said Seay.

Recipients of the boxes are submitted to the club and selected through a drawing.

Vice President Catherine White said the club has been providing Thanksgiving Boxes to those in need for more than 25 years.

The club will next hold their Christmas banquet at the James E. Ward agricultural center on December 13.

Tickets are available for $20 and proceeds will help fund other projects such as the Thanksgiving boxes.

To purchase tickets, call Seay at 615-444-6675.
