Services were conducted by Rev. David Hesson and Rev. Kevin Medlin. Burial followed at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include: his wife of 52 years Marilyn Eskew Gardner and children John Gardner, Jim Gardner, Joe (Shelley) Gardner and Jill Gardner.

Also surviving are brother-in-laws Kenneth (Clare) Eskew and Tony (Sherry) Eskew; grandchildren Tyler (Sabrina) Dawson, Trevin Potter, Amanda Burlison, Jonathan Gardner, Dustin Gardner, Shaelyn Gardner, Jace Patton Gardner, Jonah Glenn Gardner; great grandchildren Ty Jaden Burlison, Nick Burlison, Zachary Burlison, Rhianna Burlison and Jakob Gardner.

Active pallbearers will include: sons, grandsons and brothers-in-laws. Honorary pallbearers will include former employees of Dicks Food Mart and lifelong friends.
