Gaining employment is possible with the right tools. Thanks to Goodwill's Career Solutions center in Lebanon, job seekers can get those tools for free.
The newly opened Career Solutions center, located next to the Goodwill store at 1031 W. Main Street, offers a slew of services to help disabled or disadvantaged folks find a job. The first step is to stop by. The center is open Monday thru Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The center will offer many services, including free job search and placement assistance, one-on-one career counseling, interest and aptitude assessment and unlimited computer and internet access.
Career Counselor Glenn Brown said that classes are available for those interested in knowing more about resume writing and computer skills.
They will also host job fairs, such as the one they hosted on Wednesday during their grand opening celebration.
Employers such as Randstad, Manheim Nashville, Staff Management/SMX, Elmwood Staffing, Metro Industrial Jobs, Staffmark, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Speedway, Enterprise Holdings Inc., Home Depot and Prospect Inc. participated in the job fair. According to Goodwill Communications, openings included full and part-time positions in areas such as administration, automotive, assembly, warehouse, clerical, production and machine operation, with salaries ranging from $8 to $14.75.
Communications Manager Chris Fletcher said that two hours into the job fair they had already seen 60 job seekers come through their doors.
