Sarah Caves dream of owning a home is about to come true as the 2013 Wilson County Habitat for Humanity Women Build kicks-off Saturday, May 11.

Caves applied to be a partner family for a Habitat home in 2012, after being encouraged to do so by a co-worker at Genesco who had purchased a Habitat home in Davidson County, and is thrilled to now be able to provide a safe and stable home for herself and her five children, McKensie, 6, Madison, 4, Nicholas, 3, Nathaniel,2, and her adopted daughter, Courtney, 15.

The groundbreaking on Caves new home will begin at 10 a.m. at the build site, located at 418 Alydar Drive, Watertown, Tennessee in the Keeneland Hills Subdivision. Women Build Coordinator Veronica Mallicoat said that it will be a day of fun for the entire family including games for all ages, live music and food.

The actual build starts May 31 on Fridays and Saturdays through June 22, she said. We are still in need of build volunteers. Anyone can contact me at 500-2042 or email at for more information.
