Mrs. Maynard, 81 of Lancaster passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at her home.  Marie was born May 29, 1932 in Baxter, the daughter of the late; Henry Wheeler and Linnie Ann Hammock.

She was also preceded in death by two husbands; Wirt Lee Maynard, and James Howard Maynard, two tons; Terry Lee Maynard and Wirt Wayne Maynard. three brothers; William C. Wheeler, Herbert Wheeler, Jack Wheeler and sister; Aline Wheeler Fox. Marie was a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include: daughters Brenda Maynard Sharp (John McClain) of Crossville, Cathy (Jimmy) Maynard Holmes of Baxter, Debra Maynard Lamping of Brentwood, Vicky (William) Maynard James of Lebanon and Vinnie (Flynn) Maynard Neal of Lebanon. Also surviving: daughter-in-law; Sandra Maynard of Lancaster, step-son Joe (Barbara) Hanthorn of Toledo, OH; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; brother Howard (Ruby) Wheeler of Cookeville, brother-in-law Houston Fox of Bloomington Springs, sister-in-laws Margie Maynard of Hickman and Winnie Mae Bush of Lebanon.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, May 22 at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes with Bro. Ricky Ezell officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.

Visitation with the Maynard family will be held at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home Wednesday from 4 -8 p.m., and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the service time.

The Maynard family requests that donations in Mrs. Marie’s memory be made to the American Heart Association or to the National Hemophilia Association.

Arrangements are in the care of Bass Funeral Home, Gordonsville.
