Mr. Martin, 89

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Lebanon's Sellars Funeral Home for Mr. Martin, 89, of Lebanon. A US Navy veteran of World War II and a longtime fan of the UT Vols and Lebanon Blue Devils, Mr. Martin died Sept. 1, 2014.

The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home Friday between the hours of 12-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Services will be conducted by Brother Kevin Medlin and Brother Rodney Haskin. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery will follow the service.

Survivors include: his wife of 64 years Betty Jo Carr Martin; daughters Melissa D. Clemmons, Melanie (Roger) Knight, Martha L. Sempsrott and Meridith (Bobby) Eidson; son Joel Carr Martin; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brothers-in-law Harry E. Carr and Crockett (Edith) Carr; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents John Wesley and Ada Bell Laine Martin, and siblings Sally Eskew, John Martin, Lillard Martin, James “Jim” Martin, and Frank Martin.

Active pallbearers: Chad Cunningham, Corey Cunningham, Matt Sempsrott, Clint Sempsrott, Clay Eidson, Shawn Williams, Brian Blackburn, Justan Willoughby, Dexter Walker, and Josh Villalvazo. Honorary pallbearers: Dr. Sam Crutcher, Dr. Roger McKinney, 7th Floor Staff at Summit, Ted Teagle, Pet Harper, Rachel and Mamie and Choices of Tennessee.

Arrangements are in the care of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon.
