MT. JULIET -- Three lost fumbles, including one returned for the game's first touchdown, plagued Mt. Juliet in a 59-20 home loss to Hendersonville Friday, Oct. 11.
The Golden Bears dropped to 3-5 overall / 2-3 in District 9-AAA with the loss while Hendersonville improved to 6-2 / 4-1 to earn a share of the district lead.
The 9-AAA standings find Station Camp, Hendersonville and Beech all tied for the top position with identical league marks of 4-1.
The Commandos now control their own playoff destiny with games against Beech and Station Camp to close out the regular season.
Hendersonville piled up 394 yards rushing on 56 attempts -- an average of over seven yards per try and opened up a 38-0 lead before the Bears managed to dent the scoreboard.
Some 15 different backs carried the ball for the Commandos who piled up an incredible 22 first downs. Hendersonville only attempted one pass, and that fell incomplete.

Friday was especially sweet for the Commandos, who had not won at Mt. Juliet since the 2001 season.
Junior halfback Kyle Smith led the Mt. Juliet offense with 174 yards rushing on 11 carries. He scored touchdowns on runs of 52, 38 and 26 yards -- all in the second half.
The Bears ran 28 times for 184 yards, an average of 6.5 yards per attempt and finished with 13 first downs.
Alex Landis completed one of his four pass attempts for 40 yards to Patrick Cartmell.
