HARTSVILLE -- A 7-year-old boy who was at a Trousdale County Scout meeting Tuesday night was struck and killed by a car that did not stop.

The boy, Nathan Allen Denham of Hartsville, was crossing the road after a Cub Scout meeting when he was hit by a late-model four-door car, possibly champagne in color, according to a release from the THP. The car may have heavy damage to the right front quarter panel and headlight.

Allen had been at the Cub Scout meeting at Hartsville Methodist Church with his father, and was crossing State Route 141 to move a garbage can that had blown across to a neighbor's yard when he was hit.

Anyone with possible information is asked to contact the Tennessee Highway Patrol Cookeville Office (931)-528-8496, Extension 122, or the Trousdale County Sheriff at (615)-374-2114.
