Thursday, March 19 dinner / auction
LEBANON -- An incredible array of Hall of Fame memorabilia has been added to the items up for bid at Cumberland baseball's annual dinner and auction set for Thursday, March 19 at the Benton Jennings Indoor Facility.

Through a generous donation from local collector Gary F. Poling, the auction will feature baseballs signed by all-time greats Henry Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Pete Rose, Ferguson Jenkins and Gaylord Perry as well as books signed by Duke Snider and Mantle and a Chicago Cubs cap signed by Ernie Banks.

"We had a fairly strong list of MLB items already assembled," said CU coach Woody Hunt, "but Gary's thoughtfulness will push Thursday's event over the top."

Other items sure to draw large bids include: field passes to a Chicago Cubs game, assorted box seats to Cincinnati Reds home games, four VIP box passes for the Tampa Bay Rays as well as commemorative bats, artwork and jerseys from Cumberland's three NAIA National Championships.

Also on the auction block is a one-of-a-kind NAIA World Series quilt made by local artist Vicki McCurdy -- and donated by SouthEast Impressions.

Tickets are $25 per person for the 6:30 p.m. dinner and auction.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the CU baseball program, in particular field maintenance and team travel.

Advance tickets are available by contacting Coach Hunt at 615-547-1366 or by email at whunt@cumberland.edu.
