HOOPS -- Spray commits to UT-Martin

WCHS, TSSAA prolific 3-pt. shooter
GLADEVILLE -- Wilson Central's long range bomber Kendall Spray has verbally committed to continue her basketball career at the University of Tennessee at Martin The senior guard will officially sign a National Letter of Intent Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Last year's District 9-AAA Most Valuable Player, Spray was named All-State by the Tennessee Sportswriters Association following a prolific 2014-2015 campaign.

As a junior, Spray averaged 21.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.9 steals a game -- helping the Lady Wildcats to a 25-8 record and a semifinal berth in the Region 5-AAA tournament.

Last year, she established a TSSAA record for most 3-pointers made in a season -- 139. Back on January 30 against Station Camp, Spray tied a TSSAA record for consecutive 3-pointers in a game with eight - finishing with with 39 points.

She was named to both the District 9-AAA and Region 5-AAA tournament teams.

UTM has been selected to finish second in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Skyhawks picked up 10 first places votes while wrapping up 213 points overall. UT Martin is coming of a 22-11 season after posting the OVC's sixth undefeated conference season, producing a unblemished mark of 16-0.

WCHS will open the 2015-2016 season at Siegel Tuesday, Nov. 17.
