Lady 'Cats, Blue Devils undefeated
Two undefeated teams will square off against heated rivals Friday night as Wilson Central hosts Lebanon High in a District 9-AAA twin bill.
Girls action tips at 6:30 p.m. as the 7-0 Lady Wildcats take on 5-3 LHS.
Central's girls are led by UT-Martin signee Kendall Spray -- who scored 34 points (nine 3-pointers) in Tuesday's 58-28 win at Beech.
Lebanon is coming off a 58-54 home win over Hendersonville as Bailey Sells scored 22 points.
Coach Jim McDowell's Blue Devils moved to 6-0 (2-0) on the season following Tuesday's 56-42 win over Hendersonville. Senior Kobe Neuble connected on four 3-pointers and paced Lebanon High with 14 points.
Wilson Central improved to 5-3 and 2-0 in the district with a 60-49 win at Beech. Aaron Schoch led the 'Cats with 18 while Gavin Johnson had 15 points.
MJ entertains Portland
Mt. Juliet High will host District 9-AAA foe Portland High Friday night while Friendship Christian entertains Hendersonville Christian.
Watertown High is idle Friday, but will host Eagleville Saturday in a 6:30 p.m. twinbill.
Mt. Juliet's girls (4-2) won at Gallatin Tuesday 49-37 while the Golden Bears moved to 6-4 with a 64-60 win over the Green Wave.
Friendship's Lady Commanders defeated Gordonsville Tuesday 61-35, improving to 2-3.
The FCS boys fell to 2-3 with a 29-27 loss.
Watertown has been idle since dropping two games at Monterey.
The Tigerettes lost 49-48 and the boys lost 68-64.
MJCA plays at Zion Christian
Fresh off a pair of Wednesday wins over Carroll Academy in Huntingdon, Mt. Juliet Christian's basketball teams will be in Columbia tonight playing at Zion Christian.
The Lady Saints improved to 5-2 with a 67-17 victory in the opener. Caroline Scott led the way with 16 points while three players finished with 10 each.
MJCA's boys (5-3) got 16 points from Sam Forshee and 14 from Tyler West in a 62-28 win over Carroll in the second game.
MJCA will host their own Christmas Classic beginning Thursday, Dec. 17.
