will enroll at Martin Methodist --
Former Mt. Juliet High three-sport standout Caleb Chowbay will transfer from Belmont to Martin Methodist, an NAIA program in Pulaski.

Chowbay, a two-time Academic All-Conference performer and a 6-2 guard during his time at Belmont, will have two years of eligibility for the RedHawks.

He played in 28 games for Belmont this past season, averaging 2.5 ppg, as the Bruins finished 22-11 overall -- losing to Virginia in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

"Caleb has the ability to play either the point or the wing positions," said MMU head coach Scott Combs said.

"He has performed in big time environments while at Belmont. Caleb has a great feel for the game and is a proven winner. We are thrilled to add him to our squad for the upcoming season."

Prior to his career at Belmont, Chowbay starred under coach Troy Allen at Mt. Juliet High School in Mt. Juliet where he also was an All-State quarterback for the football team and played baseball.

The son of Mahendra Chowbay and Michelle Futch, he played AAU basketball for the Tennessee Travelers.
