How about liquid snow on Christmas?

Wilson County will have a wet Christmas instead of a white one this year.

Think of it as liquid snow.

Rain moves into the forecast today with a 40 percent chance, according to the National Weather Service Office in Old Hickory. The high should be about 55 with southeast winds at 5-10 mph. A 30 percent chance of showers continues tonight with a low of 44 and southeast winds at 10-15 mph.

Thursday brings a 100 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm with a high of 58. Winds will be out of the southeast at 15-20 mph increasing to 25-30 mph. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

Showers and possible a thunderstorm are in the forecast for Christmas Eve with a 90 percent chance of precipitation. It will still be windy with a south-southeast wind at 20-25 mph decreasing to 10-15 mph. Winds could gust up to 35 mph.

There is 20 percent chance of showers on Christmas Day. It will be cloudy with a high of 49 and winds south-southwest at 10-15 mph.

Friday night will be mostly cloudy with a low of 31 and south-southwest wind around 10 mph.

Saturday should be mostly cloudy with a high of 42. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10-15 mph and could gust as high as 20 mph. Saturday night should be mostly cloudy with a low of 28. Winds will be west-southwest at 5-10 mph.

Sunday is expected to mostly sunny with a high near 41. Sunday night will be mostly clear with a low of about 27.
