MT. JULIET -- Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 14 at Bond Memorial Chapel for Mr. Hamblen, 81, of Mt. Juliet. The owner of Don’s Lawn Mower and Radiator Shop and a member of Baker’s Grove Baptist Church, he died Sunday, April 11, 2010.
Mr. Hamblen was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War and was the son of the late Will C. and Rosie Sullivan Hamblen.
Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at Bond Memorial Chapel Services will be conducted by Brother Jason Rounsaville. Interment with military honors will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include: his wife of 48 years Mary Ann Hamblen; sisters Joyce (Charles) Hamblen and Faye (Kenneth) Donnell; grandchildren Lindsey (William) Hamblen Castello and Tyler Hamblen; great grandchild William Gage Castello and brother-in-law John Alton (Dona) Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son Donnie Hamblen and his mother-in-law Mary Elizabeth Smith.
Active pallbearers will be Roy Jones, Gary Jones, Ken Pritchett, Aaron Brown, Allen Sullivan and Larry Lane. Honorary: Dr. Bobby Devine, Dr. Abdul Enayat, James Haines and Melvin Everette. The family wishes to extend a special thank you caregivers Patty, Ericka, Yvonne, Gail and Mike.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baker’s Grove Baptist Church. Arrangements by Bond Memorial Chapel.
