Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto invites the community to join him at a St. Judes Heroes Reception on Thursday, March 24. The event will take place at Jonathan's Grille in Mt. Juliet from 5 to 7 p.m. and will provide information about the upcoming St. Jude Rock N Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon in Nashville.

Hutto said his family has participated in the race over the years and he wanted to get more local people involved.

"We noticed that you have to get up at 4 or 5 a.m., then drive to Nashville and search for parking - our thoughts were, 'Why not take the Music City Star (commuter rail)?'"

The train ride to Nashville is being sponsored by Premiere Orthopedics. One hundred percent of the $10 train ride ticket sales will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

"Folks will get dropped off at Riverfront and be able to walk over to the starting spot," Hutto continued.

The race will be April 30. Hutto encourages everyone to join him at Jonathan's on March 24 to enjoy free pizza, drinks and learn more about the St. Jude Rock N Roll Marathon.
