Lockhart Trucking Academy in Mt. Juliet will host its inaugural Truck Safety Awareness event on Saturday, April 2 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at 430 Clemmons Road. The event is free and open to the public.

This will be the first event hosted by Lockhart Trucking Academy, a woman-owned business dedicated to training truckers and other safety personnel to be better stewards of the roads, as well as the general driving public. In addition to industry and enforcement personnel, a team from the Tennessee Trucking Association will be onsite with a tractor trailer to demonstrate the blind spots motorists should avoid - referred to as the "No Zone."

"There are more than 250 million motorists sharing the road with approximately three million heavy duty commercial vehicles across the country," Lockhart Trucking Academy president and founder Susan Lockhart said. "We want to offer an educational experience for our community to see these trucks up close and learn what every driver can do to help prevent truck-related crashes."
