Former University of Tennessee defensive back Inky Johnson will be the keynote speaker at Wilson County Athlete Day, Sunday, Dec. 15 at Lebanon’s Sweet Saviour Community Church.
An inspirational / motivational speaker, Johnson nearly lost his life while making a tackle against Air Force during a 2006 contest. Nerve damage as a result of the injury left him unable to continue his football career, but the Atlanta resident continues to impact youth by speaking to school and church groups.
“Inky has a great message, not only for athletes, but for young people from all walks of life,” said event organizer Shavez Jobe.
Tickets are $10 in advance and are available at the Lebanon Barber Shop, 211 S. Cumberland St., or $15 at the door. Please call 547-1497 for information.
The program will start at 3 p.m. at the church, located at 210 Alligood Way.
