OLD HICKORY -- Funeral services will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at the Hermitage Funeral Home for Mr. Davenport, 80, of Mt. Juliet.
A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Davenport died July 9, 2011.
He was a 1950 graduate of DuPont High school and fought in the Korean War with the 168th MP Battalion.
Retired from E.I. DuPont and Avis, he worshipped at Maple Hill Church of Christ.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. until time of the service.
Entombment will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15 in the Hermitage Mausoleum.
Survivors include: wife Mary Sue Davenport; son Miles Davenport; very special daughter-in-law Tammy Davenport; grandchildren Leah and Kaylee Davenport; niece Joan Hudson; sisters-in-law Jean Waldron and Polly Finch; brothers-in-law Paul Skelley, Jr. and John (Marilyn) Skelley; nieces and nephews Kathy Gibson, Alison Brown, Jenny Finch, Rick Finch, Jeff Skelley, Lori Smith, Teri Brown, Rusty Skelley; cousins, Edna Estes, Doris Simmons, Betty McClellen, Linda Tarr and Billy Davenport; as well as beloved pet companions Sugar and Bubba.
Memorial donations may be made to Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund or Mt. Juliet Animal Shelter Benefit Fund.
